Is Putin going all or nothing? He is preparing another 135,000 soldiers for the war
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recruitment of Russian citizens for military service in the period from October to December 2025.
The document was published on the official portal where regulations and laws are published.
"From October 1 to December 31, 2025, to carry out the recruitment of 135,000 citizens of the Russian Federation between the ages of 18 and 30 who are not in the reserve and are subject to conscription for military service," the document states.
The same decree also ordered the dismissal from military service of soldiers, sailors, sergeants and officers whose term of military service has expired.
Implementing the regulation
The Russian government, regional authorities and recruitment commissions are responsible for ensuring the implementation of all necessary recruitment measures.
Federal ministers, heads of federal services and federal agencies were also ordered to ensure the recruitment of Russian citizens employed in federal ministries and other federal executive bodies, as well as in organizations subordinate to the relevant federal executive bodies.
