After the devastating earthquake of 8.8 degrees on the Richter scale, there was also the eruption of the Klyuchevskaya volcano in Kamchatka. An appeal was made to avoid the areas around the volcano.
The Klychevskaya volcano in Kamchatka has begun spewing lava after a strong earthquake hit the region, according to a statement from the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN).
"At this moment, we have the eruption of Klyuchevskaya," the official announcement states.
According to preliminary information, red-hot lava is descending the western slope of the volcano.

The branch of the geophysical service also published photos of the eruption taken by a camera installed at a seismic station.
Let us remind you that this morning Kamchatka was hit by the strongest earthquake since 1952, the magnitude of which was 8.8 degrees on the Richter scale.
A tsunami threat has been declared, and the population is warned not to approach the coast in risk zones.
The Klyuchevskaya volcano, 4,850 meters above sea level, is located in the Ust-Kamchatsky district of Kamchatka.
The last eruption was recorded in April 2025.
