Moscow warns: Chemical warfare threatens the whole of Europe
Moscow records the use of combat toxic substances by Kyiv and the existence of a system for their mass production in Ukraine, says the representative of the Russian Federation in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Vladimir Tarabrin.
"The situation regarding the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine is causing serious concern. The 'Party of War' in Europe does not stop its campaign of fabricating alleged evidence that Russia used toxic chemicals in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)," Tarabrin said at the 109th session of the CWC Executive Council, reports Sputnik.
As he pointed out, using the OPCW as a lever of pressure and arbitrary interpretation of the provisions of the Convention on Chemical Weapons is absolutely unacceptable.
"For example, how to interpret the statement of the EU of May 25, 2025, which calls for the application of the attribution mechanism in connection with the allegedly proven use of chemical agents used to break up demonstrations (HSBB)? Or the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands, which is disseminated in the Western media, and is based on (Dutch and German) intelligence, about the use of chemical weapons by Russia in Ukraine?", added the permanent representative.
Russia requested technical assistance from the UNODC due to the discovery of explosive devices with toxic chemicals in the liberated territories.
