Company is falling apart: Another announcement of withdrawal from the World Health Organization
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's office announced today that the country could withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO).

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, ordered the withdrawal of the US from the WHO almost immediately after taking office on January 20, and yesterday, Argentina also announced its withdrawal from the World Health Organization.
The minister in charge of the Hungarian Prime Minister's cabinet, Gergely Gulyás, told reporters today that he believes that: "If the most powerful country in the world decides to leave the international organization, then it would be reasonable for the Hungarian government to consider" whether it should take the same step, "Politico" reported.
"Maybe we'll come to the conclusion that we don't have to do that, maybe we'll make some other decision, of course, but it's definitely worth thinking about," Gulyás said, citing as an argument that "the world's strongest democracy is leaving the World Health Organization of its own accord."
Trump and his allies have accused the World Health Organization of interfering in the sovereignty of countries, of being unduly influenced by China, and of its response to Covid-19 being insufficiently competent, all claims that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus rejected in an address to member countries on Monday.
"As a United Nations agency, the WHO is impartial and exists to serve all countries and all people," said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
He added that when countries make demands that go beyond the World Health Organization's mission to support global health, the WHO says "kindly, no."
