On September 5, the big names of European and world basketball will gather in Arena Zagreb, all in honor of the legendary Dražen Petrović, and a memorial match will be played in that hall.
Zdenka Zdrilic from Zadar was entrusted by Aca Petrovic to organize this match and she says that she really liked everything she saw in Ljubljana at Goran Dragic's farewell. Just like in Ljubljana, a gala dinner will be held in Zagreb the evening before the match, but it will be closed to the public.
"Dragić's gala dinner was adapted for television broadcast on Slovenian television, and we will do it differently, in the Crystal Hall of the Westin Hotel. At that dinner, after a long time, people who had an influence on Dražen and European basketball will meet, and they haven't met for many years. We will do it behind closed doors with an appropriate entertainment program, so without the media, who will be able to work on the red carpet. And after the dinner, we will hand over the footage and photos," said Zdenka Zdrilic.
"Just take into account the fact that in the selection of Euroleague players, which will be coached by Željko Obradović and Neven Spahija, three current players of Real Madrid, Campazzo, Tavares and Musa, will play for the Croatian national team".
Who else will be there?
"Luka Dončić will certainly come, and we expect some more NBA players, as well as some of Dražen's teammates, including Vlade Divac. Representatives of the clubs that Dražen played for will come, but also some players whose names I must not mention at this time. It should be a surprise. In addition, the leaders of the Euroleague, led by Dejan Bodiroga, and the clubs where Dražen played will meet. I am most pleased that we will gather the Croatian national team from the 1992 Olympics."
During the evening dedicated to Dražen, two other late great players of Yugoslav basketball will be honored.
"We will give a kind of thanks to Krešimir Ćosić and Mirko Novosel, who had a great influence on Dražen's career," said organizer Zdenka Zdrilic in the end.

Datum 16. april 1992. ostaje zlatnim slovima upisan u istoriji Partizana – dan kada je u Istanbulu savladan Huventud i osvojena titula prvaka Evrope trojkom Aleksandra Đorđevića u poslednjim sekundama meča.
Nekadašnji prvi čovek KK Crvena zvezda i sadašnji predsednik Košarkaškog saveza Srbije Nebojša Čović gostovao je u podkastu "Ozbiljno neozbiljni", gde je govorio o sukobima u domaćoj košarci, odnosima sa rivalima iz KK Partizan, Savezu i mnogim drugim temama.
Najtrofejniji trener Evrope Željko Obradović dao je intervju za slovenačke medije u kojem je, pored ostalog, napomenuo ispunjenost koju oseća, kao i sreću što je radio ono što je voleo.
