The club from Humska had been under a suspension from the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) due to unpaid personal income tax related to Kevin Punter, according to Mozzart Sport.

The former captain of KK Partizan sued the Belgrade club over a debt of €200,000 and won the case, which resulted in Partizan being placed on the list of sanctioned clubs.

The issue concerned unpaid personal income tax that Kevin Punter was expected to settle in the United States.

The club argued in its defense that it was not obliged to cover that tax, but a court in Switzerland ruled otherwise.

The black-and-white club had already confirmed at the time that it was aware of the situation.

KK Partizan is fully aware of the process and the matters taking place, which are part of a standard procedure. The ban will be lifted soon and it was a necessary step due to the repayment plan approved by FIBA. This concerns the case of Kevin Punter’s income tax, the details of which we will not go into. In any case, we have appealed the decision to the Swiss Federal Court. This is the first time our club has appealed to the Federal Court in Switzerland, which sufficiently explains our position and our view on the BAT decision. Our appeal cannot suspend the enforcement of the BAT ruling,” the club stated at the time.

The black-and-whites have since paid the mentioned amount, filed an appeal with the Federal Court, and are now awaiting a final outcome in order to potentially recover the funds.
