Storm approaching! Emergency warning issued: "In the next two hours…" MAP

In the course of the afternoon, this strong weather system will continue moving across central Serbia and Belgrade toward the east and south of the country, bringing rain, showers, and thunderstorms along its path.

Locally, by the end of the day and into the evening, severe thunderstorms may also occur, with hail and storm-force winds possible. These conditions will be most pronounced in western, southwestern, central, and later eastern and southeastern parts of Serbia.

Along with cloud cover and precipitation, an increase in wind strength and a drop in air temperature are also expected.

RHMZ issues urgent warning for thunderstorm

The Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia (RHMZ) has issued an urgent warning for the areas of the Zlatibor, Moravica, Kolubara, Raška, and Šumadija districts due to expected severe thunderstorms.

According to the warning, within the next two hours intense showers with thunder, strong winds, and local occurrences of sleet and hail are expected.

Storm soon reaches Belgrade

The first wave of rain is expected to soon reach Belgrade.

During the evening and night, rain is forecast across much of Serbia, along with showers and thunderstorms.
