According to the latest data from the “Weather and radar” weather website, Serbia is expected to become one of the hottest spots in Europe, with maximum daily temperatures in some areas reaching nearly 30°C.
From Monday morning onward, a significant influx of warm air will be felt. While the morning will be pleasant with temperatures around 16°C, by midday the thermometer will rise sharply.
In most cities across Serbia, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Niš, maximum daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 23°C.
Temperature peak on Tuesday
Tuesday will bring even warmer air. According to satellite weather data, the “core” of the warm front will be positioned over the Balkans.
In Belgrade and Vojvodina, temperatures are expected to reach 27°C, and in some urban areas, due to asphalt and concrete, the perceived temperature could exceed 30°C.
A similar situation is expected in other parts of the country, with temperatures in Niš also reaching around 27°C.
The highest temperatures during these two days, around 27°C, are expected in the capital and in the south of the country. The same level will also be recorded in the far north, where Subotica will also reach 27°C.
Slightly lower but still warm conditions are expected in central and western Serbia: Kragujevac, Novi Sad, and Loznica will reach about 26°C, while Užice and Novi Pazar will see around 25°C. Mountain areas will remain somewhat cooler.
Warmer than the Mediterranean and parts of Africa
On Tuesday, Serbia is expected to be warmer than many Mediterranean countries, with Belgrade even warmer than cities traditionally associated with heat. Temperatures around 27°C in Belgrade compare to about 23°C in Cairo and Benghazi.
For comparison, popular summer destinations such as Athens (24°C), Rome (19°C), and Antalya (23°C) are expected to be noticeably cooler than cities in Serbia.
When relief arrives
