The end of April on Zlatibor brought a surprise — snowfall and a true winter atmosphere. While many were planning the May Day holidays, the morning on one of Serbia’s most popular mountains broke under a white cover. Snow blanketed the promenade, benches, and the lakeshore at Kraljev Trg, and the snowfall caused traffic problems as drivers had already switched to summer tires.

Snow on Divčibare

Snow has also been falling on Divčibare since the morning, and social media users jokingly wrote that “preparations for the May Day outing can begin with slipping around on ice.”

It is also snowing in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

The peak of Zavižan on the Velebit mountain in Croatia woke up under snow this morning, as recorded by cameras of the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (Državni hidrometeorološki zavod). An orange warning for strong winds is in effect for the Rijeka region, while a yellow meteorological alert has been issued for the areas of Knin, Split, and Dubrovnik.

Snow is also falling in Han Pijesak in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Forecast for the coming days:

According to the forecast of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia (RHMZ), most of Serbia will have cloudy and cold weather, with occasional rain, while snow is expected in the mountains. In Vojvodina and western Serbia, clearing and sunny intervals are expected, but a northerly wind will increase the feeling of cold.
