Eleven days of blockade of Serbian institutions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija
The so-called police Kosovo has been blocking the buildings of Serbian institutions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija for the eleventh day.
Several hundred employees in Serbian institutions still cannot go to their workplaces, after the police raid on the buildings of the temporary authorities in Leposavić, Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvečan and Zubin Potok on August 30.
Summarizing the previous week, the EU's special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajčak, announced on Facebook that, after Pristina, he would visit Belgrade to prepare the next meeting "within the dialogue on the normalization of relations" between the two sides, without specifying the date of the visit.
The temporary institutions from Pristina opened the Merdare and Brnjak administrative crossings on Saturday after several Serbian associations previously removed the blockades near the Merdare and Brnjak administrative points from the direction of central Serbia.
The administrative crossing of Jarinje is also open to traffic. Administrative crossings between Kosovo and Metohija and the central part of Serbia - Merdare, Jarinje, Brnjak are blocked as a sign of reciprocity for the measures of the temporary Pristina institutions.
The temporary institutions in Pristina then closed the Brnjak and Merdare checkpoints to traffic.
On August 30, the so-called Kosovo Police raided the buildings of the Provisional Authorities in Leposavić, Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvečan and Zubin Potok, as well as the hospital area of the KBC Kosovska Mitrovica, the building where the premises of the PIO Fund, the premises of the Office for KiM, of the Kosovska Mitrovica administrative district are located and the Center for Social Work, followed by the hearings of the heads of Serbian institutions.
