Saičić: "Government formation won't take long"
Radomir Saičić, a parliamentary candidate on the Student List, said the aim was to ensure that the process of forming a new government did not drag on and was not prolonged to the very limits of the law. He added that they were approaching the task responsibly
“Indeed, with 250 candidates and a large number of external advisers across various fields, it will not be difficult to select qualified people who will lead the country in the best possible way,” Saičić said in an interview with NIN.
He noted that “the entire Student List shares common interests that have already been discussed — the rule of law, the fight against corruption, media freedom, economic development and much more — so no friction is expected on those issues.”
“Within the first 30 days, the stability of the dinar’s exchange rate, regular payment of salaries and pensions, and energy supplies will be secured, including oil, gas and the operation of Elektroprivreda Srbije (Serbia’s state-owned power utility),” Saičić said.
He announced that “the 2027 budget will also be drawn up and adopted, with a shift in public spending priorities and greater transparency,” adding that “within the first 100 days, measures will be taken to decriminalise the state and restructure and professionalise its administration.”
“Institutional changes at the top of the mafia octopus are the first step and a prerequisite for everything that follows. Next comes making contracts public,” Saičić stressed.
He pledged to seize unlawfully acquired assets, which would first be frozen pending the conclusion of proceedings. He expressed hope that the cases would “be brought to light quickly, because money always leaves a trail.”
