Under the law, the polling station committee determines the voting results at the polling station itself, while the local election commission must prepare a consolidated report on the voting results for all polling stations within its jurisdiction within 96 hours of the polling stations closing.

The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) is responsible for preparing the consolidated report on votes cast abroad.

Within 96 hours of receiving all consolidated voting reports, the RIK must adopt and publish the overall report on the election results for all polling stations.

Under the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament, the RIK must allocate parliamentary seats to the candidates within 10 days of the publication of the overall election results report, issuing a formal decision and assigning mandates according to the candidates’ order on their respective electoral lists.

Only electoral lists that receive at least 3% of the votes cast are eligible to participate in the allocation of parliamentary seats. However, electoral lists representing national minorities may participate in the allocation of seats even if they receive less than 3% of the vote.

Parliamentary seats are allocated by dividing the total number of votes received by each electoral list by every number from one to 250. The resulting quotients are then ranked in descending order, and each electoral list receives as many seats as it has quotients among the 250 highest across all electoral lists participating in the allocation process.

Based on the report issued by the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) on the conduct of the elections, parliamentary mandates are confirmed at the first session of the National Assembly.

The session is convened by the president of the National Assembly from the previous parliamentary term and must be held no later than 30 days after the election results are officially announced. Once the mandates of at least two-thirds of all members of parliament have been confirmed, the new National Assembly is considered constituted, and the mandate of the previous parliamentary term comes to an end.

The deadline for constituting the National Assembly is 30 days from the publication of the final election results. The deadline for forming a new government is 90 days from the constitution of the National Assembly.
