All election results published; RIK's 96-hour deadline begins now
Following repeat elections at 53 polling stations, the results from all 8,392 polling stations in the snap parliamentary elections have been published on the website of Republic Electoral Commission (RIK). RIK has 96 hours to publish comprehensive final report
Following this, the deadlines for constituting the new convocation of the National Assembly will begin to run.
After the repeat voting at 53 polling stations, according to the results published on the RIK website, the "Student List" secured 53.01 percent of the vote, while the "Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia" list received 38.98 percent.
Under the law, polling station committees determine the voting results at each polling station, while local electoral commissions must compile and adopt consolidated reports covering all polling stations within their jurisdiction within 96 hours of the polls closing.
Within 96 hours of receiving all consolidated voting reports, RIK must also adopt and publish the comprehensive final report on the election results for all polling stations.
Under the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament, RIK has 10 days from the date of publication of the comprehensive election results report to allocate parliamentary mandates to candidates by decision, following their order on the respective electoral lists.
Only electoral lists that receive at least three percent of the votes cast are eligible to participate in the allocation of parliamentary seats.
However, electoral lists representing national minorities are eligible to participate in the allocation of mandates even if they receive less than three percent of the vote.
Parliamentary seats are allocated by dividing the total number of votes received by each electoral list by every number from one to 250. The resulting quotients are then ranked in descending order, and each electoral list receives as many seats as it has quotients among the 250 highest quotients of all participating electoral lists.
Based on the Republic Electoral Commission's report on the elections, parliamentary mandates are confirmed at the first session of the National Assembly.
The session is convened by the Speaker of the National Assembly from the previous parliamentary term and must be held no later than 30 days after the election results are officially announced.
Once the mandates of at least two-thirds of all members of parliament have been confirmed, the new convocation of the National Assembly is considered constituted, and the mandate of the previous parliamentary term comes to an end.
The deadline for constituting the National Assembly is 30 days from the publication of the final election results.
The deadline for forming a new government is 90 days from the constitution of the National Assembly.
The snap parliamentary elections, in which 18 electoral lists participated, nine of which had the status of national minority lists, were held on October 25.
