Caretaker Government: "We expect Parliament to be constituted as soon as possible"
Serbia's caretaker government expects the new Parliament to be constituted as soon as possible, after which a new government should also be elected.
The statement emphasised that, in order to preserve state and social stability, it is important for the process of forming new institutions to be carried out efficiently, in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of Serbia, ensuring continuity in the work of state authorities and the smooth functioning of institutions.
Today, the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) adopted resolutions allocating parliamentary seats to members of the new convocation of the Serbian National Assembly, elected in the snap parliamentary elections held on 25 October.
According to the final election results, the "Student List – Students Are Winning" was awarded 140 seats, while the "Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia" list secured 103 seats.
A further seven MPs representing national minority lists will also enter Parliament.
The new Parliament must be constituted within 30 days of the announcement of the final election results.
