The victory of the Serb List also opens the way to fulfill conditions that were agreed upon and signed more than 10 years ago, such as the formation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities.

In an interview with Tanjug, he emphasized that Belgrade insists on completing the process of defining the Community of Serbian Municipalities, and that the victory of the Serb List in municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija is a good sign that this process can be completed.

When asked whether Serbia plans new diplomatic activities related to preserving its territorial integrity, specifically regarding the non-recognition of the self-proclaimed independence of so-called Kosovo, given that the Bahamas recently recognized that independence, Macut said that there are turbulent developments globally, but this cannot slow Serbia down in pursuing its policy within its capabilities and the international situation.

“Our strategy is constantly present, and that is the maintenance of our position on the integrity of our country. Our southern province is an integral part of the Republic of Serbia according to the Constitution, but also according to the emotions of our people and everything that is the history of Serbia. You asked about recognition. It is the discretionary right of every country to create its policy, just as other countries create their policies of recognition. We certainly want to inform our friends and, in general, the countries we cooperate with about the objective circumstances, which is why we insist on non-recognition or the conditional suspension of diplomatic relations with a country and territory that is not internationally recognized by the UN,” Macut emphasized.

The Prime Minister pointed out that this is indeed our territory and added that contemporary geopolitics, especially in Europe, does not support changes to borders. He also reminded that Serbia supports the integrity of countries in the form in which they are internationally recognized.

“Therefore, we consider the same with Serbia, and we will continue on our path of diplomatic activities aimed at informing others about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and our desire that countries that still adhere to the old course change their approach and understand our reality,” he said.
