Xi Jinping's powerful message to President Vučić
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China, sharing iron friendship with Serbia, supports Serbia's efforts to maintain national unity, interests and social stability, and that China wants to work with Serbia to further improve relations.
At the beginning of the meeting with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, he said that the world today is turbulent and changing, which is why it is even more important to maintain the unity and cooperation of the two countries and to appropriate the correct historical perspective and the effects and outcomes of the war.
He reminded that the Chinese people fought for years and won one of the most significant victories in the war and emphasized that the Serbian people, among all the peoples of Yugoslavia, also fought persistently against foreign aggression and marched towards independence.
"Yesterday, during the reception, and also during the event last night, people sang Bela Chao from the Yugoslav film 'The Bridge'. And it is a very popular song. And it also paid tribute to the heroic contribution that the people of Yugoslavia made in the war. Our two great nations fought both in Europe and in Asia, and they made great sacrifices and significantly contributed to the defeat of fascism," stressed Xi.
