Vučić with Zuroff:I'm grateful for everything he did re: the truth on suffering of Serbian people in Jasenovac
President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with the director of the "Simon Wiesenthal" Center, Efraim Zuroff, in Belgrade.
"Today I had the honor of speaking with the director of the "Simon Wiesenthal" Center, Efraim Zuroff, the last living Nazi hunter. Doctor Zuroff, a tireless fighter for truth and justice, did not give up even when it was easier to remain silent, and his work is not only in archives and court records, his work is in the names that he restored to history, in the Holocaust victims that he made visible again," stated Vučić.
He pointed out that "we are proud of our good cooperation, friendship and dedication in elucidating crimes from the Second World War".
"We are grateful for everything he did for the truth about the suffering of the Serbian people in Jasenovac. While others turned their heads, he spoke with knowledge and heart. Together we considered further steps in preserving the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime. Serbia remains determined in the fight against anti-Semitism, and our obligation is to preserve memory for the sake of the past and even more so for the sake of the future," said Vučić.
