Among arrested on suspicion of torture is the Acting Director of the Special Detention Unit at District Prison

In addition to Vuković, eight other members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were arrested, including SAJ commander Igor Žmirić, Tanjug reports.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement that the suspects allegedly committed the offence during the night of August 14–15, 2025, in the garage of the Serbian Government building. They were acting in their official capacity as members of the Ministry's Unit for the Protection of Certain Persons and Facilities and allegedly used force and threats to inflict severe pain and suffering on several victims in an attempt to obtain information, intimidate them and unlawfully punish them.

On November 4, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, acting to verify an anonymous criminal complaint alleging that Marko Kričak, head of the Criminal Police Directorate, had a mobile phone in his detention cell, in violation of regulations, also ordered an inspection of Vuković's office at the District Prison.

Kričak was also arrested alongside the head of the Criminal Suppression Service, Boško Sekulović, on suspicion that, acting as officials of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, they abused and exceeded their official powers and failed to perform their official duties, thereby causing damage and seriously violating the rights of the victim, former head of the Belgrade Police Department V. M.

The alleged offences relate to their handling of the investigation into the murder of A.N., which took place at the "27" restaurant on May 12, 2026.

In addition, Kričak is suspected of abusing and torturing N.L. on the premises of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP).
