The future National Stadium has started receiving its first stands, making the structure look even more impressive, and from the center of the future pitch it is already possible to get a sense of how everything will look once the construction work is completed.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said during his visit that Serbia will have a state-of-the-art National Stadium which, as he put it, will be a true “beauty” or “state of the art” facility, and that it will be managed by one of the world’s largest companies.

At the same time, some residential buildings intended for accommodation of EXPO 2027 participants now appear fully completed from the outside, with façades entirely finished. Some are still surrounded by scaffolding, with construction work continuing at full pace.

As a reminder, the EXPO village includes 11 buildings across 160,000 gross square meters, with 1,500 accommodation units.

Around them, a large number of trees and other greenery are being rapidly planted in already completed parking areas, so the scene was surprising to us, especially since not long ago we had the opportunity to visit this site when none of it was there.

Work on the national pavilion where Serbia will be presented during EXPO 2027 is also well advanced. As Finance Minister Siniša Mali previously stated, the “Serbian House” will be a place where tradition meets modernity, showcasing not only the country’s tourism offer but also its culture, history, and gastronomy in an authentic way, all during the 93 days of the exhibition.

Mali also said that the national pavilion will be able to receive around 100,000 visitors per day.

A hotel building is already rising on the plain, which, according to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, will have 400 rooms. It is being constructed in close proximity to the pavilions where participating countries will present themselves, which is considered a significant advantage.

He also recently confirmed that more than 4,000 workers are employed at the construction site every day. Vučić stated that Serbia has very hardworking and capable workers, but not enough of them, which is why a large number of foreign workers are also involved in the construction of facilities for the international EXPO 2027 exhibition in Surčin.
