Late this year, Montenegro should begin negotiations on admission into the European Union, a draft resolution says. The European Parliament members stressed the key importance of the rule of law for the country's development and the people's trust in state institutions. They underscored that the Montenegrin government must make important strides in measures established by the European Commission for the talks to begin, after the EU's executive body publishes its report on reform implementation in Montenegro in the autumn. European Parliament members voiced satisfaction with Montenegro's good relations with its neighbors and its role in stabilizing the region.
