Man arrested for shooting at homes in Novi Sad
A statement added that an automatic rifle, a TT pistol, two hand grenades, various ammunitions, a detonator, and a slow burning fuse were found during the search of Maric's home.Several shooting incidents took place in the Petrovaradin neighborhood of Novi Sad during this week, when residents reported that an unknown person was shooting at their houses. Nobody was injured during any of the incidents.
Tanjug is reporting on Friday that one of the neighbors who gathered to watch as regular police and Gendarmes took the suspect into custody approached him and, along with a torrent of insults, said he "could have killed her parents and other family members."
"Everyone knows members of this unit took weapons home so they could have it ready when they are called up," the suspect's father, Vlado Maric, told reporters.
Earlier, their neighbor Borislav Maksimovic, whose house came under fire twice during the past week, revealed that he was the one who reported Milos Maric to the police.
He also said that although they lived in the same neighborhood for 13 years, he "did not know the arrested young man."
Maksimovic explained that his son-in-law told him Maric was a year ago sacked from his company, "which raised my suspicions, so I reported everything to the police."
