Law annulling Serbian legal acts “harmful, unconstitutional"

Croatia's President Ivo Josipovic will submit a request to the Constitutional Court to reassess constitutionality of the bill annulling Serbian indictments. He pointed out that the law, which was adopted on Friday, was harmful and unconstitutional. He also strongly criticized the ruling majority’s decision to adopt the law. Josipovic stressed that the law was harmful because if would end a good cooperation which had discarded unfounded indictments, adding that it would also prevent the international cooperation with Serbia which had resulted in a large number of trials that had been conducted in Serbia. The president explained that some Croatian citizens could be arrested if they left the country thanks to the bill. According to him, the international community believes that the law is questioning Croatia’s commitment to persecute war criminals and that it is politically very harmful to Croatia. The president explained that some Croatian citizens could be arrested if they left the country thanks to the bill.

According to him, the international community believes that the law is questioning Croatia’s commitment to persecute war criminals and that it is politically very harmful to Croatia.
