Public sector salaries up 2-4 percent, pensions 1.25 percent

Starting on January 1 public sector salaries will be permanently increased by between 2 and 4 percent, while pensions will go up 1.25 percent.

Public sector salaries up 2-4 percent, pensions 1.25 percent

He added that excise duty for fuels would be increased from 137 to 139 Serbian dinars (RSD), the Beta agency reported.

Vucic told a news conference that employees in elementary and high schools will have 4 percent increase in salaries, while medical workers 3 three percent. The salaries of those employed by the military and the police will be 2 percent higher starting on January 1.

The prime minister added that university professors will also have a 2 percent increase "which had threatened to jeopardize the talks with the IMF."
