America’s worst ever oil spill continues to spread as the first tar balls are found washed up on a Texas beach. It means the southern US state looks like joining Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida in having its coastline soiled. Meanwhile current clean-up hopes are focusing on a new super tanker dubbed “a whale” which has been adapted to skim large quantities of oily water from the surface. But so far tests have been inconclusive because of high seas.
