Factory hall collapses, injuring two workers

The workers were hired by Santos, a private company, to remove scrap metal, but in doing so triggered the structure's collapse.

Firefighters managed to pull them out of the debris an hour and a half after the accident. Both were conscious, but with life-threatening injuries.

There have been accidents at the abandoned plant before - last year heating oil spilled into the nearby Danube River, while three persons attempting died there over the period of one year while attempting to "remove cables."
