Zastava Arms workers ended their strike on Friday after Health Minister Zoran Stankovic had promised their health insurance issue would be solved on Monday. The minister met with the workers who had been on strike since February 20 because 2,000 of them did not have health insurance. Arms factory workers end strike Stankovic said that a part of the health insurance costs will be paid by the factory and the other part by the Health Ministry and stressed that companies “need to pay for the health insurance”. Former Magnohrom workers have ended a blockade of the Kraljevo town hall and decided to go to Belgrade together with Mayor Ljubisa Simovic. Simovic said that the local self-government was not responsible for solving of the problem and that he had requested Economy Minister Nebojsa Ciric to meet with the workers who have not received wages in nine months. Around 50 former Magnohrom workers, whom the company owes 18 wages, agreed with the town officials to ask for the government’s help.
