Airport introduces new taxi stands

Belgrade's Nikola Tesla International Airport has today introduced marked taxi stands at the arrivals section of its Terminal 2. The airport said in a statement today that it had supported an initiative put forward by several Belgrade taxi associations to form additional parking spaces at the stand. The airport also stated that it hoped the new arrangement would allow passengers to pay regular prices for their taxi rides to the city, and that it would eventually result in less complaints being filed with the airport. Belgrade City Council member Dejan Mali said that five taxi associations would be given as many stands at the airport, and that others would follow. On Thursday, independent taxi drivers and associations blocked access to the existing taxi stand, protesting against the decision to give the new spots only to some associations.
