Speculation over whether the SAA will be signed at the end of the month dominates the Belgrade dailies' front pages today. Also featuring highly is the confiscation of passports and travel documents belonging to Radovan Karadzic's family, and other economic and social themes. Press: Serbia's SAA chances BLIC – The paper leads with a narrowly averted tragedy in “Boy brought grenade home from barracks”. “Kosovo relics are not for political games” features an interview with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. There is also an interview with European Parliament Rapporteur Jelko Kacin in “Donors conference for Serbia”. BORBA – “Moscow categorical over Kosovo: Nothing without compromise” has the latest on the Kosovo crisis. “Army awaiting better days” looks at the new Law on the Army and Defense. VECERNJE NOVOSTI – “Shares ever closer” reports on the free share distribution. The daily publishes an interview with Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic in “Into Europe without grudges”. Bosnia-Hercegovina International High Representative Miroslav Lajcak’s decision to confiscate the passports of members of Radovan Karadzic’s family is the subject of “Lajcak takes documents”. GLAS JAVNOSTI – “From ‘I didn’t’ they get “I did’” focuses on the latest from the trial of Serb Radical Party leader Vojislav Seselj at the Hague. The daily writes that the EU is worried by signals coming from Belgrade in “Olli Rehn returns ball to Kostunica”. The Hungarian coalition’s presidential candidate Istvan Pastor says: “Serbia in EU and NATO”. DANAS: The likelihood of visas being scrapped for Serbian citizens in the near future is treated in “New passports condition for white Schengen list”. Following a meeting between Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the paper writes: “Steinmeier hopes to sign Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia”. POLITIKA – According to an article entitled “Every second employee fears the sack”, every second citizen goes to work each day as if it were his last. “Aca Tomic receives RSD 6mn compensation” concerns the biggest pay-out so far for unlawful arrests during Operation Sword, following the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in 2003. Mortgages are the subject of “Subsidized mortgages from Monday”. PRESS – The tabloid reveals that singer Oliver Mandic is on a secret Croatian list as a suspected war criminal in “Oliver on Croatian arrest warrant”. “SAA signature postponed” suggests the signing of the agreement with the EU will be postponed because of opposition from Holland, Germany, Belgium and Denmark.
