Bosnian War Crimes Prosecution has issued a genocide indictment against Zoran Tomic, in connection to Srebrenica. Tomic, also known as Zgembo, from Kladanj in Bosnia, was a member of the special police of the Republic of Srpska (RS), called the Second Scekovici Squad. Bosnian Serb indicted for genocide The indictment states that on July 12 1995, Tomic participated in the searches of villages in the Srebrenica area populated with Muslims, with the purpose of taking them into the Potocari area, and also "deporting them outside the RS". According to the indictment, Tomic on July 13, 1995 participated in the capture of several thousand men who tried to flee through the woods fearing imprisonment and liquidation. He is also charged with taking away the prisoners' money and other valuable possessions, and with taking some 1,000 Muslims from Sandici into the warehouse of the Kravice Agricultural Community, knowing they would be executed. The prosecution also alleges that Tomic took part in the murders, by firing an automatic riffle. The indictment has been sent to the High Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina for confirmation.
