BELGRADE The tax collection at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative line crossings between central Serbia and Kosovo " is in line with the Brussels agreement." This is according to Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who said over the weekend that "these funds will be channeled into the northern part of the province only." "Tax revenues to go to northern Kosovo only" In a statement to Tanjug, Vulin said that "the Brussels agreement is status-neutral," and stressed that "customs duties are not levied at the administrative crossings, because this is not a border, but rather taxes- VAT and excise duties." He underscored that the entire sum collected in this way will be allocated to the fund for development of northern Kosovo and Metohija and spent solely in the northern part of the province. Vulin specified that "this government reached the agreement on the collection of taxes at administrative crossings based on UN SC Resolution 1244, under which Kosovo and Metohija is recognized as a single customs area, the CEFTA agreement which was signed during the government led by Vojislav Kostunica, and the agreement on the integrated management of administrative crossings which was signed during the government of Mirko Cvetkovic." "This government is committed to implementing all agreements that were signed - both the ones that it reached and the ones concluded by previous governments," he said. The tax collection on the goods coming to the four Serb-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo from central Serbia began at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings on Saturday morning.
