BELGRADE Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official Dusan Bajatovic says that calls for reconsideration of the coalition agreement will not affect the ruling coalition. Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Novi Sad Boar President Milos Vucevic called on SNS acting leader Aleksandar Vucic on Saturday to reconsider the coalition agreement with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). Ruling coalition is not threatened, SPS official says Bajatovic said that the stand of the Novi Sad fraction of SNS should not be interpreted as a test of power for the two coalition partners and announced that the two parties should continue their talks on the constitution of a new parliament majority in Novi Sad. “The statement should not be seen as a test of powers between the SPS and the SNS and I can assure you that it will not affect coalition ties in the government,” he told B92. Bajatovic recalled that the Saturday talks on the constitution of a new parliamentary majority in Novi Sad did not show that there was a clear majority. “We will soon resume the talks with our coalition partners from SNS and other factors from the Novi Sad political scene,” he stressed. The local government in Novi Sad was set up by SPS, Democratic Party (DS) and the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV), with the support from the Roma Democratic Party.
