BELGRADE Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) is planning on taking part in a consensus on the dialogue with Belgrade, a Pristina-based Albanian language daily says. The AAK, led by former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commander Ramush Haradinaj, could form a coalition with Hashim Thaci’s party, Koha Ditore writes. “Haradinaj, Thaci could take part in talks with Belgrade” Haradinaj’s close associate Blerim Shala told Koha Ditore that the AAK’s condition would be that Haradinaj is given the PM’s position “as soon he is acquitted of charges for murder, torture and cruel treatment during the conflicts in Kosovo by the Hague Tribunal”. Shala said that Pristina would in the upcoming talks with Belgrade offer “additional guarantees for the Serbs in the north within the Ahtisaari plan”, that it would apply for a UN membership and that it would request from Serbia to recognize Kosovo’s independence so “the two countries could normalize their relations”. Belgrade-based daily Danas writes that Shala’s statement put an end to Kosovo Albanian Self-Determination Movement’s attempts to form a front against the Belgrade-Pristina talks. Koha Ditore has also published Kosovo Foreign Ministry’s Strategic Plan that envisages that “Kosovo and Serbia will exchange ambassadors in the next ten years because there is no EU integration without the normalization of the relations between the two countries”. Political analyst Leon Malazogu told Danas that it was not very likely that Thaci could become a new president of Kosovo at the moment because current President Atifete Jahjaga would insist on keeping the office.
