SPS-led coalition denies seeking PM position
United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Marković has stated that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-led coalition has not requested the prime minster’s position.

United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Markovic has stated that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-led coalition has not requested the prime minster’s position. The JS is a part of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-led coalition. SPS-led coalition denies seeking PM position Markovic announced that negotiations on the forming of the future government would be continued with the Democratic Party (DS) next week. “Our coalition has not asked for the prime minster’s position, the candidate (for prime minster) is (DS leader) Boris Tadic,” he told Radio Belgrade. The JS leader explained that the SPS-led coalition representatives and Tadic at their latest meeting on Friday discussed the economic program and the parliamentary majority and that they had agreed to continue the talks the following week. “There is no parliamentary majority so far and we are discussing program goals and we will see what happens,” Markovic pointed out.
