Serbian war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic expressed expectation that Serge Brammertz's report on Serbia's cooperation will be positive. The chief Hague prosecutor was in Belgrade on Monday, and his report is due before the UN Security Council in December. Serbian prosecutor expects positive report Vukcevic, who is also the coordinator of the action team in charge of tracking and arresting of the Hague fugitives, told B92 that there are no misunderstandings between the tribunal and Belgrade. He also stressed that Brammertz was about the latest developments in the search of Hague indictees Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic. To have Mladic in The Hague is an absolute priority and an obligation, Vukcevic said, expressing hope that the Hague defendant will be found soon. Vukcevic said that Brammertz, who visited Belgrade on Monday in scope of preparing a six-month report on the cooperation between the countries of the region and the Hague, was informed about the activities of the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office and the current situation in the regional judicial cooperation. Vukcevic also said Brammertz was interested in accusations he made recently that former BIA chief Rade Bulatovic did not do everything to arrest Mladic. "I presented certain facts and I believe that the public ought to know," said the Serbian prosecutor, adding that he believed Mladic could have been arrested had BIA behaved differently. Vukcevic said that he and Brammertz also discussed the case of Kosovo Albanian Ramush Haradinaj, against whom the Hague launched new war crimes proceedings. The prosecutor also said that his office is preparing to issue war crimes indictments for crimes committed in Bosnia and Croatia, and also in the territory of Kosovo.
