DSS lambast Vojvodina law

Opposition DSS official Milos Aligrudic says the draft law on Vojvodina's provincial powers is "an unconstitutional and separatist act". “It was wrong to first adopt the Vojvodina statute and to have the Serbian government subsequently harmonize state bills with what is written in the statute, because according to the hierarchy of regulations the statute is below the republic laws,” Aligrudic told reporters in parliament in Belgrade on Tuesday. Aligrudic said that "it had to be done differently, had the Constitution of Serbia been observed", and that laws on financing, transfer of jurisdiction and a number of other bills "were supposed to be adopted first, after which the Vojvodina assembly should adopt a draft statute in keeping with the republic regulations".
