President Boris Tadic says the Dayton Agreement, guaranteed by Serbia, could only be altered with the consent of all three peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He also said that Serbia respects Bosnia's integrity. Tadic confers with RS party officials Ahead of his meeting on Friday in Belgrade with the leaders of the Bosnia Serb entity (RS) political parties, Tadic told reporters that the meeting's purpose was to discuss the new situation that had arisen after the failed initiative that should have ended the stalemate in Bosnia's European integration process. "Serbia and Croatia are guarantors of preservation of the Dayton Accord and in that way, of Bosnia's integrity. Serbia remains permanently devoted to the Dayton Accord and such a political position. The Dayton Accord can only be changed under the condition that all three sides in Bosnia agree on that and that is the next principle that Serbia holds. Anything agreed on by Croat, Bosniak and Serb legitimate representatives is acceptable to Serbia," said Tadic. According to him, only an agreement and democratic dialogue can lead to a stable future in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Serbia was entirely devoted to the principle that every solution in that neighboring country must be accompanied by peace and stability. He pointed out that such a regional policy was precisely why Serbia was enjoying a "deep respect" in the international community. "The international community expects Serbia to show a constructive approach to solving issues, to reduce tension in the region and add stability," Tadic said, stressing that no one was pressuring Serbia to get the RS government to make concessions in the process of Bosnia's constitutional reform. He repeated that he was "open" to the idea to hold talks with representatives of Bosnia's Bosniak (Muslim) and Croat parties as well. Tadic speaks in Belgrade on Friday (Tanjug)
