New Zealand troops leave Bosnia

Major Michael Brown is among those traveling back home. He said in 1992 that up to 300 Defense Force troops were deployed to Bosnia, but presence was down to just three staff officers.

Major Brown said the New Zealanders were returning with a sense of satisfaction at having helped Bosnians on the road to normality.

He said life there now was a far cry from the days of open warfare in 1992 among the Serb, Croat and Muslim forces.
