Belgrade daily Blic is reporting that the incident happened late on Wednesday in front of the building where the suspect lived, and that the woman died of her wounds at the scene.

The victim's acquaintances said that she raised her grandson, and that there was "talk" about his "problematic" behavior, and that he mistreated his grandmother.

B.N. is currently held in police custody for up to 48 hours. The newspaper said that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time the murder happened, and that the police found a knife in his possession believed to have been used to commit the crime.
