Speaking for state broadcaster RTS earlier in the week, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced the dismissal of "a director of a public enterprise who has failed to comply with the government-proclaimed austerity measures by purchasing two Audi cars."

In addition, Vucic said he was unhappy with the restructuring of EPS.

The Fiscal Council recently said that the public company's business results currently pose the greatest risk to Serbia's public finances.

Fiscal Council President Pavle Petrovic stated that EPS had "a bunch of problems" and singled out the number of employees and their high salaries as the most important among them, adding there were "indications" that those salaries were raised in 2015.

The company later denied this, and said it ended 2015 with a RSD 2.5 billion profit.
