New low for Serbian currency against euro

The Serbian dinar weakened by 0.2 percent on Tuesday and set its official middle exchange rate against the euro at its new historic low of RSD 116.0455.

The Serbian dinar weakened by 0.2 percent on Tuesday and set its official middle exchange rate against the euro at its new historic low of RSD 116.0455. The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) also said that since the beginning of the year, it sold EUR 52 million in the inter-bank market in a bid to alleviate excessive volatility of the currency. On a monthly basis, Serbia's national currency weakened against the European one by 3.6, while dropping by 16.5 percent year-on-year. The indicative dinar-versus-dollar rate was 92.4886, with the dinar going down by 0.5 compared to its previous value. This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, when one euro was worth RSD 103.6922.

On a monthly basis, Serbia's national currency weakened against the European one by 3.6, while dropping by 16.5 percent year-on-year.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar rate was 92.4886, with the dinar going down by 0.5 compared to its previous value.

Compared to a month ago, the dinar weakened against the U.S. dollar by 8.3 percent, while sliding by 26.4 percent viewed from an annual perspective, the NBS said.
