Serbian currency continues to strengthen

The Serbian dinar (RSD) continued to strengthen against the euro (EUR) on Monday, going up by 0.3 percent or 28 paras. The official middle exchange rate on Monday is RSD 101.8009 for one euro, said the National Bank of Serbia (NBS). Serbian currency continues to strengthen On the monthly level, the dinar gained 1.1 percent in value against the euro, while on the annual level the figure is at 3.1 percent. The Serbian currency hit its highest value this year on May 23, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 96.7007, and its lowest on January 6 with the exchange rate at RSD 106. 4947. For the first seven months of 2011, the dinar nominally strengthened against the common European currency by 3.3 percent, the NBS release said. The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate on Friday afternoon was RSD 71.3741, which was a 0.8 percent increase in comparison to the previous day. On the monthly level, the dinar appreciated against the U.S. dollar by 1.8 percent, and on the annual level by 14.4 percent.
