Delta retail unit teams up with Russians
Delta Maxi, Delta Holding's retail chain, and Russian Finstar have set up a joint company to develop a chain of super and hyper markets in Belarus and Ukraine.

Delta Maxi, Delta Holding's retail chain, and Russian Finstar have set up a joint company to develop a chain of super and hyper markets in Belarus and Ukraine. According to the contract, Finstar will rename its Smak food stores in Ukraine to Delta Maxi and will also open new ones under that brand. Delta retail unit teams up with Russians Finstar will also develop a chain of hyper markets under Delta's cash and carry chain name Tempo in Ukraine and Belarus. Delta Holding, Serbia's largest privately owned company, already has a network of sports stores Delta Sport and Nike in Russia. Delta's income last year came to EUR 1.72bn, while Finstar's last reported earnings in excess of EUR 2bn. Delta Maxi has stores in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Bulgaria.
