A bloody battle is coming: This is the "new Bakhmut"

"Enemy defensive fortifications north of Kurakhove have been destroyed. The Kurakhove-Zaporozhye road has been cut off," sources from the security sector told TASS.

The source stated that the Ukrainian battalion has no way to leave Kurakhove. Military analyst of the Obris portal and associate of Jutarnji List Igor Tabak wrote on Wednesday that the situation around Kurakhove is becoming dramatic and difficult to sustain.

"If they succeed in capturing the village of Stari Terny, which is located west of Kurakhove, the Russians will have the opportunity to cut the only road connecting Kurakhove with the west of Ukraine," claimed Tabak.

According to the Ukrainian Judiciary, the 79th separate assault brigade from Mykolaiv is participating in the fighting near Kurakhove. At the beginning of October of this year, that brigade repelled a Russian attack near Kurakhove.

It destroyed 19 Russian armored fighting vehicles at the time. In that conflict, 23 Russian soldiers were killed and 23 were wounded.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, publicly praised the aforementioned brigade for its participation in the defense of the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

The news portal Slidstvo.info writes that members of the 79th separate Tavrian Assault Brigade captured Russian soldiers at the end of October.

Paratrooper "Fran", a member of that brigade, told Slidstvo that he destroyed "a lot of Russian machinery and people" near Kurakhove. He added that Russian soldiers are very active near Kurakhove, but that they no longer have vehicles and that they are attacking Ukrainian positions in small groups of infantry.

Artillery "Viktor" from the 79th brigade informed Slidstvo that this brigade is preventing the advance of Russian forces. The eventual fall of Kurakhove, as well as the nearby Velyka Novosilka, would make the entire Ukrainian position on the eastern front much more difficult and open up new, additional paths for the Russian army in its campaign against Pokrovsk.

Already in the first half of November, the town of Kurakhove was surrounded by Russian soldiers from three sides, and the media declared it the "new Bakhmut"...
