They promised retaliation: "We are not afraid"

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that his country will respond to the killing of the political leader of the militant group Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran last month.

"Iran's reaction to the Israeli terrorist attack in Tehran is final and will be measured and well calculated. We are not afraid of escalation, but we are not looking for it - unlike Israel," Araghchi wrote on the X network, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Araghchi stated that he said this in a telephone conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

Haniyeh was killed at the end of July in Tehran, and Iran blamed Israel for his death and promised retaliation.
