Drama in Germany: Threatening message received — Is an armed attack being planned?
Several schools in Oschersleben, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, were closed today following an anonymous threat of an armed attack, the State Education Authority announced.
The threat was sent on Monday evening in a chat within a parents’ group, and police officers increased their presence outside educational institutions, Der Spiegel reported.
The threatening message read: “I will shoot you all.”
In a statement, the school authority said that some schools had switched to remote learning and that they would likely resume regular classes on Wednesday.
It was noted that closing all schools was an unusual measure, but that the decision had been made in accordance with police recommendations.
“The aim is to keep the situation under control and allow for a thorough investigation,” the statement said.
