The plan is in place: Is Europe facing an attack?
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said last night that Ukrainian intelligence services and those of partner countries have information about what he described as specific Russian plans to attack European Union countries.
Sybiha said that Russia is trying to reduce support for Ukraine by creating security risks and exerting pressure through operations in European countries.
“Both European intelligence services and we have information about Russia’s plans. There are clearly developed plans aimed at attacking one European country or another. They exist, and intelligence services are aware of them. We need to be prepared for this. The most important thing is to prevent them,” Sybiha said, according to Ukrinform.
He assessed that operations being carried out on the territory of European countries are no longer merely hybrid operations, but acts of sabotage and subversion.
Speaking about efforts to end the war, Sybiha said that India, Turkey, Egypt and the United States had put forward four proposals for a ceasefire, which would be implemented in parallel with efforts to reach a peace agreement.
According to him, the proposals concern an energy ceasefire, a ceasefire in the Black Sea, and facilitating grain exports.
Sybiha said that India had put forward the broadest proposal, which includes an energy ceasefire and a ceasefire in the Black Sea simultaneously, to which, he said, Ukraine is ready to agree.
Two proposals concern a food-related ceasefire in the Black Sea and facilitating grain exports, with the first proposed by Turkey and the second by Egypt.
The fourth proposal, put forward by the United States, concerns an energy ceasefire, which was discussed during a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“We are ready for various ceasefire formats, including an unconditional ceasefire along the current front line,” Sybiha said.
He added that Ukraine believes one possible outcome of a potential meeting between Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin could be precisely the achievement of a ceasefire.
