Moscow warns: "These are our targets in Europe"
“Factories in Europe that produce weapons for Ukraine are potential military targets for Russia,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
She was responding to a question about Poland’s readiness to build a factory on its territory to produce interceptor missiles for the “Patriot” system intended for Ukraine.
“Arms factories in European countries that produce weapons for Ukraine are potential military targets for Russia, and no one should think that military factories outside Ukrainian territory producing weapons for the Kyiv regime will be safe. Anyone who thinks otherwise is mistaken,” Zakharova said.
As she added, European countries are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.
“They are not merely providing assistance. By opening arms factories and engaging in joint investments, they are fully involved. And that only delays a resolution to the conflict instead of helping, as some forces in Europe believe or imagine,” Zakharova added.
NATO and many European countries have said they will continue to support Ukraine and help it push back Russian forces, as well as continue intercepting Russian drones and missiles.
