"Suicidal paranoia"; NATO will attack Russia from two directions — will the Kaliningrad exclave fall?

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys previously called on NATO to be prepared for an attack on the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.

‘We must show the Russians that we are capable of penetrating the small fortress they have built in Kaliningrad. NATO has the necessary means to destroy Russian bases in the exclave,’ Budrys said in an interview for Swiss media, as reported by Sputnik.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly warned that any blockade of the Kaliningrad region would lead to an ‘unprecedented escalation,’ and that all threats to the region would be destroyed.

The Federation Council of Russia previously stated that Moscow will not allow anyone to threaten Kaliningrad or the Baltic Sea, and that any provocation will be met with an immediate response. Kaliningrad is the largest city and administrative center of the Kaliningrad region, a Russian exclave between Poland and Lithuania with access to the Baltic Sea.

Preparing strikes from Latvia as well?

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) stated today that the Ukrainian regime does not intend to limit itself to using air corridors provided by the Baltic states to the Ukrainian armed forces, but is preparing strikes on Russia from the territory of Latvia.

The statement claims that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is determined to demonstrate to Europe the allegedly preserved combat capability of the Ukrainian armed forces, according to TASS.

According to SVR data, Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of launching strikes on Russian territory using Latvian infrastructure, with Zelenskyy seeking to convince European allies that Ukrainian forces remain combat-ready and capable of damaging the Russian economy.

SVR also stated that, based on this goal, the Ukrainian command is preparing a series of new attacks on Russian rear areas. The intelligence service claims that Kyiv intends to use not only air corridors previously provided by Baltic states, but also their territories for launching drones, in order to reduce flight time to targets in Russia and increase the effectiveness of strikes.
