Iran issues ultimatum: "Otherwise, we'll prepare to strike"

The statement added that any U.S. attack would trigger continued strikes against American bases and interests in the region. Iran also warned that countries supporting U.S. aggression would be considered parties to the conflict.

A day earlier, on Saturday, Iranian security official Mohsen Rezaei said that Iran had conveyed its conditions for resuming negotiations to end the war with the U.S. through intermediaries.

According to Rezaei, the conditions include a ceasefire on all fronts, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, and the lifting of the naval blockade.

Rezaei confirmed that consultations with intermediaries from Qatar and Pakistan are continuing and that Tehran is awaiting a response from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that his country would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until Iran’s conditions are met and the U.S. fulfills its obligations.

Ghalibaf said Iran must fight and negotiate at the same time. He stressed that Tehran would use military force against its enemies, while diplomacy would be used to consolidate its military gains when the time is right.

Security Alert

Due to the escalation of the conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Embassy in Israel issued a security alert on Saturday evening.

U.S. citizens in the Middle East were advised to exercise “extreme caution,” with warnings of possible flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel difficulties.

The alert said that the Houthis, amid the conflict with Saudi Arabia, had targeted civilian airports, adding that “military conflict can quickly escalate.”
