The news was confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said that, according to the information available so far, at least five people were killed.

Zelensky said that the kamikaze drone struck the building while journalists were broadcasting a program. The attack caused part of the structure to collapse.

Zelenskyy said that emergency services were working at the scene and that rescuers had already extinguished the fire.

“However, it is currently known that there are five victims, but that number could rise,” the Ukrainian president said.

“The use of ‘Shahed’ drones against the media marks a new chapter in Russia’s degradation, and Europe and the world must certainly respond to this. No attack on Ukraine and Ukrainians, on life itself, must go unpunished. Russia must be stopped, and that can only be achieved through joint efforts,” the president stressed.
